How to Get Rid of Hickeys with the Most Effective Techniques

A hickey is a bruise caused by biting or hard-kissing on the soft tissue parts of one’s body, for example the neck. For obvious reasons, those who have hickeys would like to get them off as fast as they acquired them.

We have gathered the most popular and effective ways of getting rid of hickeys. Here they are:

Cold compress

You need a towel and a number of ice cubes.

Take the towel and wrap some ice cube in the towel. Take the towel and press the affected area. Follow this procedure for about twenty minutes.

After twenty minutes take a break and again apply for twenty minutes.

White toothpaste

Just put a layer of white toothpaste on the affected skin. When the prickling disappears, remove toothpaste with a warm sponge. You can repeat this procedure in 24 hours if needed. If you use toothpaste as soon as possible, the result will be better.

Rubbing alcohol

Rubbing alcohol creates a soothing and cooling effect, not to mention that it has disinfectant properties. It should be applied as soon as possible so as to relieve soreness and possible itchiness. However, one should have moisturizing lotion to apply on the area, since alcohol dries up the skin.

Brush your hickey

It is a strange method, but many people swear that it works. Take a toothbrush or a hairbrush and tenderly rub your hickey and an area surrounding it. Do not rub aggressively, as you will only make a hickey larger. Rub it for five minutes and then wait 15 minutes. Redness and a swallow will become larger, but in additional 15 minutes they will disappear.

The trick is to make blood flow faster in the hickey to remove excessive blood from tissue.
