Fast and Effective Ways to Get Rid of a Bloated Stomach

Bloating is not a serious condition, but it is extremely uncomfortable. Your mood will change as soon as you feel bloated and it stops you from doing your regular activities. Unfortunately, no matter how much we will try to have an appropriate diet, we will still feel bloated sometimes, either because of the food itself or because we are in a hurry while eating.

Bloating is one of the most frequent problems of the digestive apparatus. The most common causes for bloating are combining the wrong types of food in one meal, gluten or lactose intolerance, food excess, soft drinks, artificial sweeteners irritating the stomach’s mucus, too much salt that leads to water retention or eating different types of beans that was not cooked properly.

Some foods are well known for their tendency to produce gas. Brussels sprouts, beans, cabbage, cauliflower, onions, milk and whole-grain breads all have a reputation for being gas-producing foods.

If you feel bloated after you eat, you should try some helpful homemade remedies:

Anis and fennel seeds

These seeds have carminative ingredients, well known for helping eliminating stomach gases. It is also a natural digestive, with anti-spastic properties, which will relax the digestive tract. Anis and fennel seeds have anti-microbial agents calming the pain we feel once we are bloated. All you need to do is chew half teaspoon of anis or fennel seeds after food and you will get rid of bloating.

It is well known for its diverse medicinal use, including reducing the bloating and intestinal gases. The ginger will act against the inflammation in the intestines, relaxing the muscles and reducing the abdominal cramps. You can either drink one cup of ginger tea before your meal or eat one teaspoon of shredded ginger.

A very appreciated medicinal plant, chamomile has calming and anti-inflammation effects, which makes it your ally when you want to get rid of the bloating. All you need to do is drink two cups of unsweetened chamomile tea daily. Pour some hot water over one teaspoon of dried chamomile flowers and infuse it for ten minutes.

My advice is to try and have a balanced diet, drink plenty of water and avoid heavy meals if you have previously suffered from bloating. Also, some women feel bloated especially when they have their periods, so it is better to avoid eating beans, chocolate and processed food in that time of the month.
